Window Golf — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what Window Golf ("the app," "we," "us") collects, why, and your choices. Window Golf is a camera-based practice tool for golfers.

The short version
- We create an anonymous identifier on your device to store your handicap and Combine history. We use a third-party analytics service to understand how the app is used. We do not collect your name, email, or password.
- The camera feed is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. It is used only, in real time, to draw the aiming bars on your screen.
- We do not sell your personal information.

What we collect

Anonymous identifier. We create an anonymous identifier on your device to store your handicap and Combine history. We do not collect your name, email, or password.

Profile information. Your handicap index (and whether you marked it an estimate), and your preference for whether to receive sponsor offers.

Practice and Combine data. The results of Combines you complete — scores, the dispersion width used, target distances, and timestamps — and your display preferences (default zoom, distance, and window), some of which are stored only on your device.

Usage analytics. We use PostHog to record a small set of in-app events such as app opens, session length, opening Sponsor Deals, and copying or tapping a sponsor offer. This helps us improve the app and report aggregate engagement to sponsors.

Technical data. Our service providers automatically receive standard technical information when the app connects, such as your IP address, device type, and operating-system version.

Camera. The app requires camera access to draw the aiming overlay over the live view. The camera image is processed on your device in real time and is never recorded, saved, or sent anywhere. We do not access your photo library.

What we do NOT collect
- No email.
- No name.
- No passwords.
- No photos, videos, or recordings from your camera.
- No precise location or GPS data.
- No contacts, microphone, or health data.

How we use your information

To save your handicap and Combine history, power the Combine progression algorithm, show relevant sponsor offers if you opted in, and improve the app through aggregate analytics. Our legal bases are: providing the service you requested (your practice data), our legitimate interest in improving the app (analytics), and your consent (sponsor offers — the opt-in you control in Settings).

Who we share it with

Service providers. We use Supabase (database hosting) and PostHog (product analytics) to operate the app. They process data on our behalf under their own terms.

Sponsors. We may share aggregate, de-identified engagement metrics (for example, how many users viewed a deal or copied a promo code) with sponsors. We do not share your identity with sponsors unless you separately opt in to their offers and, where applicable, consent at that time.

We do not sell your personal information.

International transfers

Our service providers may store and process data in the United States. By using the app you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the US.

Your choices
- Sponsor offers: toggle on or off any time in Settings.
- Your data: to delete your data, email us at the address below and we'll remove your handicap and Combine history from our database.
- Camera: you can revoke camera access in iOS Settings, though the app's core function will not work without it.

The app does not send you email; in-app announcements are how we communicate.

Data retention

We keep your handicap and Combine data until you ask us to delete it. Analytics events are retained per our analytics provider's standard retention period.

Children

Window Golf is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date will change accordingly.
